The End?

Your kind words of encouragement and support really do go a long way. This isn't the end and after all this sofa pipa acta nonsense perhaps the chairs will be back to how it use to be, til then i have some other ideas in mind. Follow the blog here and like it on facebook to know when these ideas will start to happen.

From our chairs to yours \m/

Mediafire just pulled every link offline. No warning, No email, No breach of service message. Just gone.

With that being said all 2000+ of my posts are now dead. If we travel back a year or more then there might be some rapidshare posts left but really whats the point.

I re-built the chairs after google took it down, I had my links, it wasn't too hard but now completely starting from scratch re-uploading everything to a file host which will probably do the same....

The chairs are mighty angry this time around and though we all know what I was sharing was wrong their were terms of services and acts that limited the trouble I could get into. I followed the grey area rules but with SOPA, PIPA, ACTA there seems to be zero rules anymore.

Will this stop me from downloading? fuck no it wont. I now vow to never help this industry out again, Ill send my money straight to the artists no fuckin middle men and I hope you all do as well.

Now before every site goes down excuse me as I download the entire internet.

  3. Hey, Tim, this is truly a sad day(s). I knew it would happen after Megaupload went down, that the others would drop like flies. You had a great site, and were one of the last hold outs. I'm really glad I closed the Swamp on my own terms because I saw this kind of thing coming. Thanx for all your great uploads and being a blogger neighbor to the Swamp for all the years. It was a good ride.

  4. It's really sad. And I only discovered this blog a month ago, I was really excited to go through all this ... I hope this isn't the end. It would be nice to see your blog in action again, no matter how long it takes !

  5. Yeah I was wondering what all is going to happen.
Thanks for the info, I def found some great stuff I never would have on my own. I will be continuing to sample online and then support the ones that I enjoy.

  6. Fucking bullshit. My uploads are still up, but it's only a matter of time.
I will see what I can still do, but the risk now is bigger. I love you all, and would love to keep in touch with those who might want to.

    Here's my Facebook account: http://www.facebook.com/genaro.cucalon

    Fucking bullshit.

  7. bloody hell! fuck you, mediafire. I thought if there was a service who wouldn't give in, tail between its legs, it would be mediafire. but no... it seems that someone made quite an example out of megaupload and now everyone is taking precaution and shutting down before being shut down. I strongly support your decision to buy directly from the bands as I've been doing the same for quite some time now. I hope the Internet breaks due to the increased "get it while you can"... dark times ahead. the winter is coming. stock up, people!

We can turn it around people. Give yourselves a pat on the back if you ever bought records or CDs even tapes or t-shirts of your favorite bands that you would have never known without the help of The Chairs or any other blog. Maybe this is a good thing because now anyone who had any connection to a music sharing blog is aware of the happenings in our government and our societies around the world. Now everyone who chose to ignore the political realm of our reality is forced to take a second look. Maybe this is the catalyst to the "global village" that goes beyond mindless entertainment, passive headbanging, and raging masturbation.
Sad... yes. But it just maybe whats necessary to shift our focus to the urgency of developing our minds in order to influence our relationships and our environments
    for the better.
So lets crank Lynyrd Skynyrd and fuck some shit up!

  14. I just wanted to throw in a few cents here - Yes, artists definitely deserve to make money from their art and can feel stolen from by downloaders, BUT so many more bands actually make money by virtue of the fact that their music is being stolen. For example, I download a TON of music, listen to it, if I like it I buy the cd, buy a shirt, and go see the band live when they are in town; if I don't like the music I downloaded I DELETE IT! No harm, no foul. Why is this not an acceptable form of commerce? Why should have to shell out $15 for a cd that I might not even like? Does the band receive the $15? NO, the damned music companies do. In my way of doing things, the money goes straight to the band (for the most part) because I am buying from them directly at their shows. And how is this supposed to work for out of print material pray tell? If it's out of print, I can't but it from the band or their label directly, I would have to buy it second hand from somewhere like ebay where the band will not see a dime for it anyway!!! So, not should we shut down ebay for reselling cds and vinyl. This is all just ridiculousness from coroporations that already have more money than they know what to do with.

  15. I feel Angry since yesterday, I feel sick of this stupid dumb ass global political dictatorial shit, I feel like a drug addict ready for anything to get his dope, and at the same time, I feel like People could just make this shit fall apart and rip it to pieces and rebuild something better! Don't give up the fight!

I would never have enough words to thanks the bloggers community to made me discover thousands bands since the last 4/5 years, and I never bought so much cds and merch!!!

Hope to see you around one those days Angry Dudes, thanks again for what you've done, we won't gave up! \,,/

  17. The Chairs will always have a special place in my musical heart. Thank you so very much for the many, many great bands the chairteam has ever brought to my attention!

Thank you Tim and the rest!

Surely this is not the day of downloading apocalypse, but a large chunck has been taken out of it. Oh well, the artists can rest assured that my support hasn't diminished, I'll just have to try harder to discover new bands before I know I have to get my ass to their shows or buy their records.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What about just sharing the links from say a torrent site? I think it might keep the site going on. Just a suggestion dude, thanks for all of your hard work.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I have loved your blog for a long time now. I vow to give any money I spend on music directly to the artist or to a small music store (used CDs/vinyl). I am also currently trying to download the whole internet as well :) Best of luck with future posts!

  20. Tim, your blog has been my music inlet for several years now, from the very first iteration on Blogger to here. I have loved your blog and always looked forward to your posts.

Unfortunately, with Megaupload's shutdown last week, I kind of expected this. I hate to suggest this, but is it possible Mediafire was trying to protect its users with a shutdown imminent? I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. If they delete your links and purge their servers, then Big Brother can't track you down and come after you too.

No matter what the case is, though, thank you for always supplying me with great music and for introducing me to many great bands. I hope you can find a way to continue to bring music to the masses in the future. Rock on, brother!

  21. This plain sucks... I used this place to find new music, if I listened to it loads i bought it.
    Seemed fair to me.

  22. I'm from Brazil and without Angrychair I wouldn't listen to half the bands I listen nowadays.I have always visited the site but never commented, now I regret it.
And you have to find a way to keep bringing music for the ones who really like music.
Thanks for the years of excellent music!!

  24. This blog is, bar none, my favorite on the web. I'm terribly sad the see the state it's in now, but I have hope it can persevere and remain king. Maybe once all this SOPA/PIPA hype dies down, things can get back to status quo. Thanks to EVERYONE on the team for all the work you've done and the bands you've turned me on to. Your recommendations and postings have been invaluable.

  32. I would like to thank the Angrychairs team for providing us all for fantastic music for the last few years. This was one of the best blogs out there! Keep downloading everyone, don't let these greedy, corporate cunts stop you. Torrent, rip, seed, upload, do anything you can. It's downloading that helps the artists, it just doesn't help their labels. But support the artists, buy merch and go to concerts. Just buy the merch through them with no middle man. Go to their official site or just buy merch at gigs. Lets beat SOPA/PIPA

  33. Discovered u guys just over 1 year ago. Seriously helped my love of music especially stoner, doom rock metal evolve and introduced me to loads of artists I would never have heard of. It seems like the one thing the overlords/elite cabal of bastards who run shit can't completely control is being destroyed one piece at a time. What do we do now???

  34. Your post is incorrect. Mediafire is still functional, and so are a lot of your links. They may be deleted later, but right now it isn't dead.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Some links are dead but if you google these albums.rar you can found other valid mediafire links :)

  36. i know not all the links are dead but every one that i posted is. They purged my mediafire account. As for the rest of the team they are lucky.

  37. Hey man. I'm from Brazil and a fan of both incarnations of Chairs. I buy tons of stuff via Amazon and thanx to blogs like yours which provide samples (that's how I see the archives I download) so I can try them out before spending my hard earned money. You'll be much missed, it was a good ride. Peace.

music industry is stupid, they kill one of their best and cheap advisers....
long live the sharing world, its the only one who will survive, the greedy must die.

  40. bit of hope, think of this: the biggest investors buy themselves into social networks like facebook, knowing, people want to share. iphone starts an app to share music on the streets, but, hell, you cant sell and share at the same time. what a pitty for the investors. thats why the sharing world will survive and win; creating networks, stronger than the old and greedy ones, growing faster than their fu.cking interest rates.

  41. the big hedgefunds go offshore, why cant the filesharingsites do the same? create an offshore-music-fund(cayman, jersey?)! but for sharing, not for hiding! if they want to run it down, hackers of the world unite and free the 18 trillion dollar hidden there (dont waste your time with fbi, just puppets of the capital), enough to free the worlds debt, hunger, slavery and pollution... free it anyway, by the way:)
