I´m Chris, the latest angrychairs-team member. Being a prehistoric archaeologist from Germany in my 8-to-5 life, I´d like to expand the musical variety on this excellent blog, posting some ancient, historical sounds for you metalheads. Although some of my future posts might not excactly cover the term "metal", I´ll try to provide you some intense 70s/80s/90s music.
The first impression counts, so I´ll offer you one of my favourite bands, Only Living Witness (OLW) from Boston Massachusetts, one of the most underrated bands in history. The band was formed in 1993, releasing their debut album Prone Mortal Form. One of my all-time top 10 album of the last centuries is their second release Innocents from 1995.
OLW combine heavy riffing, versatile drumming and Jonah Jenkins´ awesome voice to a big and heavy monster. Not evil, not badass, but a driving force in time of needs...
The sound of this record is direct and raw, the songs are to the point.
This band never got the attention, they deserved, as they split shortly after this release. Jonah Jenkins voice can be heard in projects such as Miltown, Milligram or Raw Radar War.
