Grey Skies & Electric Light
Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light is the fifth and final album by Woods of Ypres. It was recorded in 2011 in Ontario.In comparison to past Woods of Ypres albums, the album has a stronger emphasis on clean vocals and doom metal sounds, with little of the black metal sound that was present on previous releases.

A plea for help
I HAVE OVER 100 SO FAR WHICH GIVES ME FIRST PLACE! CLOSEST COMPETITOR IS AT 70ish. KEEP EM COMING! WITH YOUR HELP IVE GOT THIS!
Alright guys, I have been generous all these years with trying my best to supply the music you all love and it isn't too often that I ask for anything in return... but now I have a request.
I have a 9 year old brother who collects little figures of disney characters, his favorite ones (Monsters Inc) quickly sold out and now go for a hella lot more on ebay but the company has a contest....
Whoever gets the most "referrals" to their facebook page wins. You must like their page and then post under their contest post saying who referred you, so for example "Tim W referred me, he's gonna win!"

Legal Fingers
Legal Fingers are a rock n roll band who are putting the "sensual" back in "non-consensual." Dripping with animal magnetism, Legal Fingers brings to their small Midwest hometown the kind of loud, sleazy rock you'd expect to hear blasting from the speakers of a 1978 AMC Pacer in the parking lot of a 7-11. Successfully marrying the raw boogie sound of ZZ Top with the sordid hedonism of 80s glam metal, the 3-piece band write songs about fighting, partying, infidelity and strip clubs (just to name a few).
I immediately grew attached to this band, brought back memories of bands from yesterday. Check em out if you like your rock sleazy and in your face.

Vagitarians
Its a cool feeling when a band I have already known and listen to sends me in a new release wanting me to share it.
The Vagitarians started to play in 2008 with huge influences from the sludge/NOLA scene. Their music back then was great for fans of Superjoint Ritual, Down, CoC, Crowbar. Then they went into a doomier direction and now have progressed some more with a sound closer to that of Eyehategod, Mastodon, and at times Neurosis.
The band is also tightly connected with Ceremony Booking which helps promote polish underground bands and put on big sludge/stoner/ doom shows. Belzebong, Major Kong, Elvis Deluxe are just some of the underground bands they have promoted and coincidentally I had on the blog. This started off as a solo writing/recording project by Zack Kinsey that was never meant to see the light of day. Just doing it to do it, but with a little bit of encouragement from lead guitarist Brent Hedtke, we decided to put the songs up on the web available for download. There is the possibility of a live set being put together. We've already got the dudes lined up, members of Sourvein, Witchden, The Mighty Nimbus, Powermad and Bastard Saint.
In other words the live set will be a killer supergroup of stoner sludge goodness!

Argonauta
I remember seeing this one on blogs last year, never ended up grabbing it but now Argonauta has sent it to me so no excuse now. Argonauta was born in Mexico City and resides in Monterrey, Mexico. All instrumentals and music were performed and written by himself, this is totally a one man DIY approach which is pretty neat. Sadly I need vocals to go along with my music so if you are a fan of Boris, Neurosis, Earth any sort of instrumental band, check this out!

All That is Sacred
Five piece melodic hardcore band from Syracuse, New York which may just be Syracuse's best kept secret. With service in the army, balancing two other bands and living their lives the members just kept coming back to 'All That is Sacred' and why wouldnt they? Its a formula that works, why leave behind something good. Fans all around their city told them to push the band harder and Its a good thing they decided to, with just listening to the promo sampler I know the upcoming album will be a huge success.

Crapped together at the ass-end of 2k10, the Lewd Dewdz are some turds playing punk rock from Buffalo, NY. After playing a handful of what can loosely be described as shows and managing to scrape together enough coinage to drop a deuce of a demo tape in 2k11, the Dewdz have already established themselves in their native Buffalo as a bunch of assholes with, you guessed it, a reputation for being assholes.
Not particularly my cup of tea but someone out there will like em!

Lord 13
I grabbed this album from everyones favorite stoner source a couple weeks ago. Its a slab of thick groovy stoner rock and even features Ben Ward from Orange Goblin. Well Lord 13 thought I was a good source of promotion too so you all better download this shit!
Lord 13 formed in 1999 and shortly after their first few live shows they made a name for themselves as a high energy, live, heavy rock band. As time went on they not only formed their own label but also put together a 24 band 3 day festival on the island of Antiparo.
On their official website they have their newest release available for free download and in time all their work will be available.

Slow and crushing atmospheric sludge with ambient post metal like segments, I'm sure they're bands that are similar to this but I dont know them. To me this is something pretty awesome and original. Self released on their own label this is really something to be proud of.

Cerber plays an uncompromised blend of hardcore, stoner/sludge metal and specific, strong groove, not avoiding either melodies or a complete lack of them. -from their facebook
